I had great pleasure in entering a mini painting event at Charlotte Park on the 8th of September.
The weather was a little hit-and-miss, with drizzle in the morning which made the initial painting a little challenging (but my basic DIY umbrella set up worked a treat).
I had planned to get to a particular spot to paint a rendition of the little bridge on the grounds, and fortunately the 150+ other painters had different ideas and set up in other areas of the grounds thankfully.
Once set up, it was an enjoyable day, and had most of the painting completed by lunchtime (which left several hours of fettling and chatting to the visitors who showed interest in the work as it developed).
Drizzle…
Finit!
The finished painting ready for submission at 14:30.
The quality of the other submissions was bewilderingly good – it was hard to believe such amazing pieces were turned around in such a short period of time.
Fortunately for me, I was lucky enough to sell my submission which topped the day off nicely.
SOLD!
The customer was absolutely delighted with the painting and it was hand delivered to them on the way home.
Result…and an enjoyable day out.
